About me
I help founders connect their business plan to a people plan: who to hire, how to organise, and how to lead - so they can scale with confidence, avoid people debt, and build teams that deliver what they need them to.
I started consulting because too many founders were trapped firefighting instead of leading strategically. As startups raise funding and grow fast, they often lack the capability to scale their people strategy. The result: scattered priorities, disengaged teams, and burnout.
My mission is to fix that with practical, human-centred solutions that align people strategy with business goals - so you can scale without sacrificing yourself or your culture.
Most engagements start with a Hiring Roadmap Sprint or People Foundations Audit, so we agree on the real problems and tackle them in the right order.
Why listen to me?
I've spent 18 years building people strategies across different industries, stages and vantage points. I've hired, retained, and developed teams—and I've seen what breaks founders and their teams when they scale without the right people foundations.
My background spans:
Agency: I learned how to hunt, assess and close talent in fast-moving, high-demand markets.
Public service and public sector: I saw what robust, high-accountability systems look like when the bar for impact is high and scrutiny is constant.
Startups to scale-ups: I grew a company from 50 to 350 employees across 7 global locations before a $650m exit in 2024. I built and evolved people and talent foundations as the company scaled, changed shape, and professionalised.
Consultancy: I’ve worked with 40+ startups and scale-ups, fixing people debt across different markets, funding stages and leadership styles.
I've been:
An in-house operator with ownership of People and Talent.
A partner to founders and exec teams through fast growth and messy change.
A specialist brought in to unblock hiring, reset teams and design scalable people systems.
A trusted adviser to VC and PE firms helping portfolio companies scale headcount strategically and sustainably.
That mix means I've seen the patterns from multiple angles-and I know what will actually work with your current managers, constraints and culture, not just what looks neat on a slide.
My approach
Clarity: plain-English explanations that founders actually understand
Calm confidence: direct, grounded, no drama, no jargon
Practicality: tools you can use immediately, not theory
Whole-person consulting: cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and ethical
Zero-dependency systems: designed to make me redundant fast
Human before frameworks: people first, frameworks second
